Trivia Game
Need a game idea for a bridal shower? Want to see how many people “really” know their about-to-be-wed friend? Then have a trivia game.
Have some questions about the bride and/or groom ready…questions like, how they met, what was the first job that the bride held, what color are the groom’s eyes, etc. Try to have a decent amount of questions for the game. Guest can play as individuals or in teams and you can have a gift for the winner/team of the game, such as a gift certificate.
This is a fun way to get everyone involved and see who knows the bride/groom/couple the best.
Bridal Treasure Hunt Theme
Silver Plated Heart Box with Black Velvet Lining
There are many types of bridal shower themes…Asian themes, garden themes, traditional themes, and everything in between. How about a theme that the bride to be doesn’t know about, a high tech treasure hunt? Using the technology of today, this will be a great way to surprise the bride to be!
Send out invitations to the guest letting them know about the shower but not to tell the bride to be, as she will have to find the ‘treasure’, which is the party itself. Find a place to have the shower, big enough for all attending, and preferably, some place that the bride to be would never think of. As this will probably be an all day thing, start early by sending clues to the bride to be via letters, phone calls, cell phones, anything you can think of…this works better if a friend of the bride to be, who of course is in on this, can keep her busy while things are being set up. Make sure the messages are short and only tell bits of where the shower will be held.
Decorations can be simple or extravagant…you can have the colors of the wedding, you could have the place of the shower look like a party, or anything that will look fun and enjoyable. Food could be catered, guest could bring food, like pot luck, or if the shower is outside, barbeque…music could be provided by a band or disk jockey. Have the guest there 15-30 minutes before the bride to be so that everyone can surprise her.
There are many games that could be played at this shower…bingo, trivia games based on the bride and groom, or anything that’s fun and will get everyone involved. Party favors for the guest could be miniature treasure chest with the names of the bride and groom.
If you’d like treasure hunts, like using today’s technology, and want to give the bride to be something she will never forget, definitely try this theme!
Sports Theme
Play Ball! - Placecard Holders (Set of 3)
You’re sitting down, on the edge of your seat, waiting, and then you hear it…”he’s at the 50, the 40, the 20, the 10, TOUCHDOWN!!!” and you scream. Are you someone who loves sports? Do you watch every game of your favorite team or have decals of your team on your vehicle? If you do, then this theme is definitely for you…a sports theme!
This theme works best if the shower will be co-ed, as men love sports, but it doesn’t have to be. If the bride and groom to be both enjoy the same sport and team, everything will be based off that…if they enjoy two different sports or teams, then planning may take a slight bit longer. Invitations for this theme can be creative…use the colors of the couple’s favorite team(s) and have little pictures of players with the invitation. Also, you could have a generic invitation and decorate it with a border of different sport equipment (football, baseball, hockey stick or puck, etc).
Again, decorations will be based off of the couple’s team(s) or sport…if the groom likes baseball and the bride likes football, you could have footballs and baseballs as decorations along with their team’s colors. If they like the same sport but two different teams, then you could have just the colors of their favorite teams together (i.e. Eagles (green, white, and black) and Redskins (red, yellow, and white)).
As this theme is pretty casual, for food, you could have a tailgate party/cookout with all the works…hamburgers, hot dogs, chips and dip, anything you’d like. For games, you could play all types of sports games such as flag football and volleyball or you could play sports trivia games in groups (men vs. women, teams vs. teams, etc.). For guest gifts, you could have sports cards made (think baseball card) with the statistics of the bride and groom.
If you want a shower theme that will be a ‘hit out of the park’, then try this theme!
