Kitchen Consultant Theme Bridal Shower

Pear Timer in Wooden Gift Box

“The Perfect Pair” Pear Timer in Wooden Gift Box

Everyone needs to know how to cook, whether you are cooking a meal for yourself or for fifty guest…and everyone needs kitchen tools to cook with. The bride-to-be is no exception…after marriage, she will be cooking for two and should have the right tools, so why not have a shower where she can get the tools that she needs…a kitchen consultant theme!

Invitations for this theme can be simple or decorative…you could make invitations with pictures of small kitchen utensils for the border with the name of the company that will be hosting the event. The invitation could read: “Come to a Pampered Chef Kitchen Bridal Shower for (bride’s name). No need to spend time shopping. Gifts for the bride will be selected from The Pampered Chef catalog” or whatever company you decide to use.

Food will be prepared by the consultant demonstrating the various kitchen tools offered in the catalog…the bride-to-be and guests will get to eat the food that is prepared and guests have an opportunity to ask the bride what she is interested in or, the bride can “register” ahead of time with the consultant for the items she needs. This idea insures that the bride gets useful gifts, the guests don’t have to go shopping or try to find a gift the bride has registered for at some store, there is less chance of duplicate gifts, and all gifts ordered are sent straight to bride.

As a game, the hostess hands out a quiz (previously answered by the bride) with various questions about the bride’s cooking abilities, dinner party prowess and whatnot. A sample question might be: “(Bride’s name) is hosting her first dinner party for (groom’s name)’s office staff. What is she most likely to serve?

  • a. Rack of Lamb
  • b. BBQ
  • c. Sub sandwiches
  • d. Wouldn’t dream of hosting a dinner party for (groom’s name)’s office staff!

Guest whose answers most match the bride-to-be wins a small kitchen tool.

This theme is different, fun, and delicious all in one!

Garden Brunch Bridal Shower Theme

Gerber Daisy Favor Boxes

The sun is shining on a beautiful day…the smell of freshly cut grass fills your nose along with the sweet aroma of lovely flowers. Roses, tulips, lavender, and many other types of flowers surround you and you can’t help but to smile and you forget that you’re at a shower. Does the idea of being surrounded by sweet smelling flowers bring a smile to your face? Then have a garden brunch theme.

If you have a large backyard, a garden brunch can be a delightful shower. Remember not to host it too early; 11:00 am is probably a safe time. If your backyard already has different types of plants and flowers, you won’t need many decorations as the garden itself is the main focus…hang mini-lights on backyard shrubs and place pastel colored table clothes over the tables. Scatter rose petals on the table clothes and place a framed picture of the bride or groom on each table…if you have childhood photos that would be especially sweet. Serve a continental breakfast, complete with fruit salad, muffins, bagels, pastries and mimosas (champagne and orange juice mixed together). Guests are invited to bring a gift of their choice.

If you don’t have a big backyard, try hosting the bridal shower at a pretty bed and breakfast or a luxurious hotel that serves formal afternoon tea. Serve tiny sandwiches, scones, crumpets, jam, clotted cream and tea. Think crisp white tablecloths, fresh flowers in elegant vases and an overall air of refinement and sophistication.
Favors can have a garden theme: from mini watering cans, to flower seeds, to trowels to a live mini rose bush or garden plaque with the bride’s name engraved. Or perhaps, get the kits where you can create your own stepping stone and use it as a game.

However you decide to plan this theme, it will be a wonderful and beautiful day for all.

Sea Theme Shower

Seaside Beach Candles in Coral Design Gift Box

Does the idea of water and sea creatures bring a smile to your face? Does the bride to be like swimming or relaxing at the beach? Then try a sea theme shower!

Invitations could be a printed scallop shell opening up to summon her Majesty the Mermaid Queen’s court to a nuptial gathering. A deep-sea motif can easily be pulled off for a bridal shower by choosing a decor based on an aqua, silver and pastel pink colour scheme. The bride-to-be could have a silver spray-painted crown made with construction paper and pasta shells, she could sit on a throne which could be a big chair decorated like her crown. All you need to do is paste the shells on the paper, spray paint and tape them to the chair. If you want a more fun theme, have the guest dress up wearing various sea-themed costumes…mermaids, pirates, fish, coral, even a sponge named Bob would all be welcome at her majesty’s undersea court.

The menu could be seafood based, with sushi, seashell pasta salad, shrimp appetizers etc. Tortilla chips with a pureed shrimp, sour cream and salsa dip would be served as soon as guests arrive. An unusual pastry-shop cake with a king and queen of the mermaids motif with icing coloured in the aqua, silver and pink party tones.

For games, you could have a treasure hunt and have prizes such as a nice pair of pearl studs or a faux-pearl necklace.

This is a nice theme for lovers of the sea and a great way to do something that the bride loves.
